We like Core Creek Lodge for its reasonable rates, friendliness of owners and guests, we feel very safe there, all ground-floor rooms, and it is away from all the hustle and bustle. If you want to visit with others there are always friendly people to chat with and a breakfast where people gather ; but if you are a bit of an introvert and just want to be alone and feel like your getting away, this place fits that need, too. I appreciate that the owner tries to set you up in a room where you'll be most comfortable and feel safe. If I ever need anything they are very gracious and responsive. (Always reachable by phone.) A single woman would be able to park right in front of the office and should feel perfectly safe there. Owners give great information about the area and good recommendations on where to eat, etc. The renovations are making it much nicer and welcoming. Plenty of space to sit outdoors on decks, benches, chairs and grassy areas. This isn't top of the line accommodations, but it serves our purposes and they don't charge you an arm and a leg. The (2 per person) pillows are awesome! Comfy beds, nice towels and shower curtains, nice new outdoor door mats...The little touches show they care about their guests. This has been a great place for the fishing crowd, but it's now a lot more comfy for any visitor to the area.

Great place to stay. Gary the owner was awesome and very hospitable. Even made us a waffle to deliver to our still sleeping teenager. Fishing on the dock was a great experience. I will most definitely be returning already planning a week long trip..

It's further away from the beach than I would have liked. Very secluded. There was a small pier to fish from but kids aren't allowed on it. Soap from someone else was in my shower, and the floors are weak. We were only there one night. Owner was extremely nice but I don't think we will be staying there again.

This is definitely off the beaten path, but worth it! The owner was so nice in making sure we had everything we needed. He also makes waffles for breakfast every morning. My friend and I had a fantastic girls weekend away. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and comfortable. The air worked great and the pillows were so comfortable. Pet fee was low. Owner served breakfast each morning and interacted with the guest. Not a new hotel but very well kept up. Only about 7 or 8 miles to Beaufort' s beautiful Front St. My husband and I will definitely stay at Core Creek Lodge in our future.
